Getting Your Real Estate Life Together: Q&A with Richard Calderon
Name, Location and how long have you been an Agent
How do you stand apart from other agents?
I like to think it’s my beard, but I’m known for being tech savvy and knowing where all the best Taco spots are. Clients are looking for experts in the neighborhood, what’s there and what’s coming up. I’m that resource for clients and colleagues.
What is the key to attaining long-term clients?
What marketing method is most effective for you and why?
Client Pop bys and Social Media. My wife helps me out in this department to create some awesome pop bys. A few examples, Homemade Pop Tarts, Homemade TACO Seasoning, Engraved Taco Coasters, Taco Ornaments, my Yearly Top Ten Taco list and our latest one, a Helicopter Tour Giveaway. I create a video of the process and get people excited for it. People start reaching out to make sure they are on the list. As clients receive them, they post and share on social media, then I reshare. Instagram helps seal the deal giving you the behind the scenes of what I do in my professional and personal life.
What routine do you implement in your daily real estate life?
Honestly, I have a hard time creating a routine but one thing that is locked in is that I live and breath by my calendar, if it’s not on the calendar it’s not happening.
What are your DO's & DON'TS when it comes to conversation starters?
Don’t be the first one to bring up real estate. I normally ask about any great restaurants in the area. I find people eat more often than they move lol so much easier to carry a conversation . I also ask to keep me in mind when they find a new favorite taco spot. People will text or tag me on social media which helps me stay top of mind for when they need a Realtor or have a question about who has the best Al Pastor Tacos.
Which goals are you looking to achieve this year and what will it take to meet them?
I have some amazing New Sites on the way and this resale market has been fast paced…. I’m investing in team members, to help them and myself grow.
What's one piece of advice you would give a new agent?
It's very easy to get stuck on needing the best equipment or making sure everything is just right......Grab a phone and hit record. Done is better than perfect!
