Real World Marketing: Q&A with Chrissy Mallouf

Name and Location

Chrissy Mallouf, Realtor, M Squared Real Estate Team in Denton, Texas

What’s your market like?

Thriving. I live in one of the nation's top fastest growing counties.

How do you differentiate yourself from your competition?

Very creative marketing, heavy social media presence, we don’t pay for leads and are in the top 1% of the entire DFW metroplex. We've won Best of Denton for 5 years, and we've also won the Best of Denton County.

What marketing method is most effective for you and why?

Social media! I have a big following on Facebook and Instagram. A few years ago I did a music parody that was a huge hit, and now I'm known for my live videos and Instagram stories.

What marketing method is least effective for you and why?

Cold calling and newspaper ads. People like to feel a connection with you and videos provide a way for them to know and trust you.

How do you measure your marketing methods?

Being far ahead of everyone in our area. I am often asked to teach classes on marketing, especially social media.

What are your three favorite ways to start a conversation?

Well, the first thing I always do is smile. And then I make eye contact and ask a question that the other person can't answer with a simple yes or no.

How are you elevating the look and feel of your business in 2018?

My friend Darby and I joined forces to start a team in February. We've won the top team in our office every month. We're both moms who love our jobs and volunteering—we serve on local boards for the city, nonprofits, and real estate. We're a force to reckon with. We're still getting our systems organized, and we've started putting more creative riders on our listings as well. I think we naturally connect to our clients because we care about building lasting relationships.
